Matt is an award-winning photojournalist and wedding photographer in Asheville, NC. His editorial photography, portrait photography, food photography and architectural photography has been published in numerous North Carolina magazines such as Our State Magazine, WNC Magazine and Carolina Home + Garden Magazine.
January’s issue of Verve Magazine featured a story on 30 women under 30 who have been making an impact on Asheville. Two of them are Carol Nguyen, left, a project manager for the City of Asheville and Sara Fields, center, actress and an events and marketing director for a local PR agency. Also pictured is Michelle Hernandez, right, who shines as one of Verve’s makeover beauties.
Mary and Brad’s playful spirit made it a pleasure to photograph their wedding last season at the Crest Center. I had such a hard time selecting just a few photos that I decided to post most of the layouts from the album I created for them. I love telling the wedding day story in photographs. Every wedding is different and special in it’s own way.
Artist and shop owner Forrest Hogestad, poses for a power suit makeover feature in Verve Magazine. We spent the afternoon walking around downtown locations in the snow. Below her is a before and after of investment executive Karen Clerici.
I had the honor recently to photograph the honorable Mayor of Hendersonville, Barbara Volk at City Hall. I had to include one of the very cool chandeliers gracing the hallways in the historic building in downtown Hendersonville.
I was truly in awe of guitar master Larry Coryell as I listened and photographed him at a concert Friday 10/9 at Pisgah Brewery. He had an incredible band. Pisgah Brewery is an Organic Certified brewery in Black Mountain NC. Tasty music and tasty beer….who could ask for more.
Two experts in their field: Sarah Resnick of City Bakery works on a cake in the shape of a wine bottle during a recent photo shoot for Verve Magazine and classical music and movie aficionado Chip Kaufmann who I photographed for Carolina Home and Garden.
